Updated Daily U.S. Casualties
8/7/2003

As of Tuesday, 251 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to the Department of Defense.

The British government has reported 43 deaths.

On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 113 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to the Department of Defense.

These numbers reflect a correction by the military, which had previously reported 114 killed since May 1, Pentagon spokeswoman Lt. Col. Cynthia Colin said Wednesday.

No new identifications were given by the military on Wednesday.

The latest deaths reported by U.S. Central Command:

A U.S. soldier assigned to Coalition Forces Land Component Command died Wednesday from an apparent heart attack.

A soldier from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) was killed when he fell from a roof Aug. 5 in Mosul.
