that woman was describing the difficulties of the hispanic economy. It's a fact that hispanics are harder hit by the bad economy, possibly the hardest hit of any group. Her question was not about herself, it was about her community, and in fact many in that community are poor.

Another possibility is that there was something in her question that didn't get across in the translation. Dean speaks Spanish, so he may have heard a different question than you did, assuming you listened to the translated question.

But you might be right, it may be as you say. If you can find any info on how that woman liked Dean's answer, and whether she interpreted it the same way you did, please post it.
