Upcoming Strike Rallies, February 18th and 19th!

· UFCW Local 1442's Strike Force and the National Lawyers Guild invite all supporters to a mass picket line and rally on Wednesday, February 16th, from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Albertson's on Hawthorne and El Segundo in Hawthorne. 
· Then, on Thursday, February 19th, at 9:00 a.m. UFCW Local 1442 and the A.F.L.-C.I.O. invite all strike supporters to march from the Union Hall, 1410 2nd to the 3rd Street Promenade, and then to the Vons at Broadway and Lincoln.

The Union has made a special appeal to the public to join them at these two rallies to show the stores and the businesses that back them that the community is solidly behind this strike.  Bring your own signs, banners, noisemakers etc., to demonstrate the enormous support this strike has from the public.  The last few rallies have had hundreds of people and a lot of press.   Reporters are eager to talk to strike supporters about why we support the battle for healthcare and decent wages.

Please bring video cameras and still cameras if you have them-and be sure to post the best of your pictures on the local strike websites.  La.indymedia.org and geocities.com/backlassoweb are updating their pictures regularly and they are pretty inspiring.  These are the records of what is one of the most important labor battles in U.S. history.

I. When: Wednesday, February 18th, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
