I grew up Baptist, but since reaching an age of reasoned thought, i have found that all paths of belief contain a few morsels of absolute truth (usually related to how we should behave toward our fellow inhabitants of this little orb in space), surrounded by a lot of dogmatic bullshit and fairy tale.
My moral compass points quite nicely to the side of compassion and goodwill, but without being forced there by the looming threat of eternal damnation and torture by some unknowable deific being.
