We used to have loads of rabbits around here. They'd eat any flower I planted and generally were a nuisance. I never did figure out a way to keep them away BUT! About 2 years ago coyotes moved into the area; They're gone now and so are the rabbits. I'm sure they'll re-populate sooner or later, I'm dreading it.
