Her hours are shorter during the summer (by her request) and that's also when she uses most of her vacation time. She's been there like 9 years now so her vacation is not only significant because of how long she's been an employee but grandfathered to the old schedule - newer employees don't get nearly as much time.

It also isn't really an academic program during the summer, but she's a teacher through-and-through so EVERYTHING ends up being academic.

On Edit: the public school's last day was Thursday.
