1. ummm...that's not quite right.
the mayor of mpls. is a DFLer.
white guy, mcmanus, did get himself into a shitstorm straight out of the box by suspending the top three people in the department.
one was a woman.
they have all been reinstated and mcmanus gave a partial apology for the terms he used.
there was a memo that supposedly went missing.
it had to do with an officer ... i believe he is Hmong or Vietnamese ... that got shot and critically injured by another cop while on an undercover buy operation.
the idea was that the top people were covering up for white cops who fucked up in shooting the asian undercover cop, who will probably never work in law enforcement again.
mcmanus should have had his ducks in a row before he went after these people. that is not to say he should not have gone after them.
