How I wish we could honor the wisdom of "pretty is as pretty does." What's really "pretty" is treating one another with genuine empathy -- THAT'S my definition of beauty. But it seems so many of us (including myself, sometimes) are unwilling to invest in trying to peel back the layers--they might not be pretty-- of those around us to find the human core.
