The thought of making Ice Tea...

Would probably make my Asian ancestors cringe.

I don't get it. On a hot day, I always fill my glass with ice and add hot tea. It probably wouldn't work with real Green tea, but with Oolong or Chinese tea its wonderful. I used to make my own Thai Tea.

Here is a recipe:
Things You'll Need:
Chinese black tea (tea bags)
Cardamon
Splenda
Non Dairy Creamer or non fat Whipped Cream
Cinnamon

The best tea to use is Chinese Black tea which you can find in most
grocery stores. Tea bags are best, though if you enjoy using a Tea-ball and un bagged tea it will work. Boil hot water. When boiled pour water over tea bag and let steep.

You will have two different cups. One a coffee mug which you will ad a tiny pinch of Cardamom and a tiny pinch of Cinnamon to the cup. You can either put some non dairy creamer in the cup use a non fat whip cream. The other will be a glass full of ice.

Once the tea has steeped and is a full rich black color, poor into the cup with the powdered ingredients

I remember once making Ice Tea and my Korean grandmother would make a face..

"Don't put ice in it, you will ruin it!!!" She would say...

One time while she wasn't looking I slipped her a Thai tea. She looked at it and said,

"What is this?"

I said; "Just drink it Gram! I think you will enjoy it!"

She made a face and sipped it. Her face lit up, She loved it, until I told her it was Tea... pfft. But you know, she does have my mom make it for her once in a while. My mom had me emailed her the above mixture. On a hot day, I can't see drinking hot tea. Hot tea is great on a cool or cold day. But on a hot day...

I love ice tea! I can't think of any other countries, besides Thailand and the US that enjoy Ice tea so much. Can you?
