11. I graduated high school in 1985 and SAT prep courses were pretty common
Though, not everybody took them in my town - where I grew up was small mostly white suburban town, but the schools were average for Connecticut. I think in the more affluent towns, it was more common for kids to take SAT prep classes.

However, I think it's far more common today than it was 25 years ago.
