Consider it a "Holodeck" kind of thing...it can be ANY ten bands, regardless of whether they are still together, still living...if you could gather TEN musical acts, either solo performers or bands, who would you pick?

Here's mine (NOT in order of appearance):

1). Neil Young & Crazy Horse (with Danny Whitten, the "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" era)
2). Allman Brothers (the original, with Duane & Berry)
3). Grateful Dead (the "Skull & Roses" / "Europe 72" era, while Pigpen was still on board and Godchaux had just joined)
4). The Band (the Rock of Ages-era)
5). The Byrds (original lineup with Crosby)
6). Jefferson Airplane (The "Surrealistic Pillow" lineup)
7). Quicksilver Messenger Service (the original, WITHOUT Dino Valente)
8). King Crimson (The Fripp / Wetton / Bruford / Cross edition)
9). Genesis (The Collins / Banks / Rutherford / Hackett lineup from "Trick of the Tail" and "Wind and Wuthering")
10. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
