Hmmm... I am discovering something real interesting about diabetes.

I take two types of insulin:

1) 1 shot of "long term" in the morning.

2) 3 shots of "short term" with each meal.

3) 1 shot of "short term" at night.

For about the past week, I've decided to try to eat just what I need to survive. I am still eating balanced meals (protein, fat, carbs), but VERY small portions.

Yesterday, I said fuck it and did not take any short term insulin all day, because my blood sugar was consistently dropping way too low, almost to the point of passing out.

So when I checked my blood this morning, it was normal, as if non-diabetic. This makes me believe that I have a real good shot at getting off the short term insulin. Further, I believe that if my weight drop continues (I've dropped 5 pounds or so), that I will be able to get off the long term too.

Just kind of thinking out loud here.
