9. "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash"
Yep, for two years, Johnny Cash had a variety show and he actually featured coolness on his show. It is entirely possible that network TV was not ready for a guy who a lot of folks thought was a redneck good ol' boy like them but was actually an anti war activist and didn't mind rock and roll music.
Rowan and Martin's Laugh In was a cool show as well. "Sock it to me" became a popular phrase for a short time. It also launched a few careers, such as Goldie Hawn (who I had a crush on).
