I myself have always had a liking for body hair on women, particularly unshaven or hairy legs. I have always had a wish that women, in non-trivial numbers, would let their body hair grow out, and feel OK about doing so.

I certainly do not think it is weird to like body hair on women, any more than it is to be gay or lesbian. If it is now generally accepted by most of mainstream society that it is normal and OK to be attracted to people of the same sex, then why should it be any different to be attracted to body hair on women, which just happens to be currently out of the mainstream in our society.

If anything, our society is weird, with its weird fetish about women having to go through all kinds of pain and trouble to remove any and all body hair, and to look like plastic Barbie dolls.

That being said, I do think it was inappropriate and insensitive for your date to make the request he made of you, on only your 2nd date, to not shave for him.

I think that if the matter is that important to him, it would have been more appropriate and more sensitive for him to gradually bring up the topic of body hair on women, as a topic perhaps about women or about society in general. For instance he might ask you what you think about the fact that women in our society generally feel that they *have to* go through all kinds of pain and trouble to remove their body hair. Or he might ask if you think it is strange that homosexuality has come to be generally accepted and talked about in society, but body hair on women has not. And he would need to respect your level of comfort or discomfort about the matter. I would think that if the matter is important to him, and you are uncomfortable about the matter, then you and he are probably incompatible (which of course would not necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with either him or you about your preferences).

I have been posting for a number of years on an adult discussion board about female body hair. A number of women post on the forum who have decided to let their body hair grow out. In almost all the cases the decision to let their body hair grow out has been a gradual one, in which they have struggled with becoming comfortable about doing so.
