I joined DU in April 2002, and made my first post on May 1, 2002. Here is a recent post in which I linked to my very first DU post (as requested by the OP to which my post was a response), and also to a pun thread in early 2003 in which I had posted a number of puns (I like puns).

I finally have 1000 posts after just a little less than 7 1/2 years. I am not one of the most prolific posters. I am not a naturally gregarious or outgoing person, either in real life or on a forum like this. I am particularly not given to small talk or banter, either in real life or as seen here in the lounge.

During the time I have been on DU I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of DUers at DU gatherings here in Southern California; in fact one of them has been you, devilgrrl.

I have seen you at several DU gatherings, one time here in San Diego in early 2004, and then at several gatherings in the Los Angeles area. In fact I remember after the DU gathering in Long Beach in early 2007 you and I rode together on the Metro Blue Line from Long Beach to the 7th Street Metro Center, from where I transferred to the Red Line to get to Union Station to take the Amtrak train back to San Diego, and from where you transferred to get to where you needed to go. And I remember at the DU gathering in Anaheim in late 2007 you came into where the gathering was, and saw me, and recognized me, and thereby knew you were in the right place for the DU gathering.

Other DUers whom I have had the pleasure of meeting have been Teena, aka nothingshocksmeanymore, who unfortunately got involved in a very nasty love triangle with a couple of other DU members, and the very gracious CaliforniaPeggy. In fact both of these have been present at DU gatherings where you have been present.
