As the endless, two-lane black ribbon continued to unfold ahead of him, the sound of the old shovelhead was mesmerising, the pulse of a bygone era that lived on. As the sun set and he and the old shovel rolled on, he was lost in the cathartic bliss that only a vintage machine, a desert road and perfect weather can provide, not knowing,or caring that several miles behind him, she had fallen off.
