I have never felt more discriminated against than what I do today

I had to go to my job network for an appointment today. In short, my old case worker who I got along famously with resigned, and so my file was handed to another person.

Of course we have to fill out some papers, and on one of them came the usual question of what outside interests and hobbies do we have. I always answer that question with politics, current world affairs, online chatting, and LGBT rights, etc, etc, etc. Well my new case worker turned around and said me to, "what does LGBT stand for?" So I told her. After that she gave me bad looks, and turned around and said, "well you had better keep your sexual choices to yourself, because it won't get you very far in life." And she proceeded to remove it from my file.

I really felt like telling her, that being a lesbian isn't a choice, but I can't. These people provide a service for the Australian government for those of us who are on unemployment benefits. If I had of gotten into a fight with her, it most likely would go on my record, and could very well cost me my dole.

I cried all the way home. And now, I am going to get bloody well drunk!
