Reply #86: Been in 2 accidents involving hydroplaning--almost 20 yrs apart!

Nothing is scarier than thinking you're correcting the skid, then finding out there's no road under you to correct to!! I went over a ravine in '91 and rolled the car 3 times, emerging without a scratch. Now I know why they plant Iceplant along the freeway--like a little spongey cushion for impact!

Then, just last December, hit a huge puddle in the middle of the first torrential Bay Area rain. Dry road now wet, bad traction. Headed horizontally along the freeway, but before hitting the guardrail I got nailed by a Chevy Tahoe that couldn't stop in time. Luckily, both me and the other driver had no injuries.

Telling you, already tempted Fate twice. Gonna stop driving before I'm 70 so I don't go for the three strikes and you're out!!
