I would recommend buying a Roku DVR and dropping your subscription to the $8.99 plan. There are thousands of movies and TV available via the Roku player (you can also watch them online on your computer without the Roku DVR). The Roku player just allows you to watch the instant movies for free on your TV. The number of movies you can watch is unlimited. Some of the latest generation Blue-Ray players have the Netflix interface built in, which means you don't need the Roku device.
When Netflix upped their Blue-Ray fees I got pissed at them and switched to Blockbuster. I miss the instant movies most of all, though. There's a lot of great stuff available.
