Great Spotted Woodpecker in our garden*

Since last Thursday, we've had a regular early morning visitor to the hanging peanut-and-suit feeders in the conifer tree at the edge of our little meditation garden. After some research at the Swiss Ornithological Institute website (listening to woodpecker calls and looking through photos), we've determined that our visitor is a Great Spotted Woodpecker. We are just calling this guy/gal "Spot." You can read more about the Great Spotted Woodpecker here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Spotted_Woodpecker

*Thank you, XemaSab, for the bird wisdom, and Maestro, our favorite DU bird photographer, for the inspiration. :yourock:
