That was a horrible year for the Academy Awards. Neither one of those films deserved to win Best Picture. "Crash" was so unworthy that I don't blame "Brokeback" fans for raising hell.
IMO, "Munich" was the best film nominated, and it was probably too controversial to win. "Capote" was spectacular. "Good Night and Good Luck" was very good.
I remember thinking that "Crash" was the worst of the five films nominated. But that happens a lot at the Academy Awards.
In a world in which "Chicago" and "Forest Gump" can win Best Picture, anything is possible.
