I know that sounds crazy but go read the Highway Traffic Act.

You may enter the intersection if it's safe to do so.

One night in downtown Vancouver, BC, I was approaching an intersection. The light had just turned green my way. A little brown shitbox blew past me into the intersection.

The problem was, that a lady in an SUV was still in the intersection trying to make her left turn from the previous light. When the intersection cleared she went ahead with her turn and the guy in the shitbox T-boned her at 45 mph. The SUV was damanged somewhat but the shitbox was turned into scrap metal. Surprisingly, he walked away.
