Reply #24: I like the first night scene

Where Tim Robbins is in his cell for the first night and all the lights go dark. The shot is of several cells opposite of his on several floors which are darkened, all you can make out are the bars. Then as the prisoners emerge to stand at their cell entrances to harass the new fish all you can make out are these ghostly gray shapes. Great shot in my opinion. Gives the movie a supernatural feeling.
