Janeway just beamed some non-humanoid alien to the sickbay, with absolutely no prior knowledge of it, or its behaviors, if it is a threat, etc... and big surprise, it attacked a member of the crew...

I hereby Nominate Janeway as the stoopidest Captain in the Universe.

edit: for some more background, some wave followed them, and when it hit, damaged the hull a bit and downloaded some staticy sounding gobbly gook, so they follow it back to its origin, find some non-humanoid thing that they think is hurt and beam it to the ship with absolutely no regard for crew safety it would seem.

How have they actually managed to stay alive doing things this dumb?
