8. What part of the 'west coast'?
If you're going to Seattle, there's a ton of natural beauty (along with the tourist traps) along the I-90 corridor.

However, i agree with whoever said that you should get your kicks on Route 66.
I plan to do this as a treat a few years from now, just to see a part of the country i have never been through.
