Sometimes they have really good advice about OTC meds to suit your specific symptoms.

Aside from that, lots and lots of fluids, hot tea or broth. We have had good luck not getting sick by taking Airborne almost daily during cold and flu season. It's full of echinacea and other stuff. And I use one of those Vicks nasal sticks to keep the sinuses clear.
