6. I'm a substitute teacher and that is both easier and harder than being a
contract teacher. I love it. I love teaching different subjects on a daily/weekly basis, and I also love the long term subbing jobs (three weeks, five weeks, seven weeks, three months, etc.)

I have relearned so much that I'd forgotten and learned new stuff too.

There are days when I wonder if I'm totally insane, but there there are other days.

One of the best days was when my son came home and told me that a student who was really intelligent, but very unhappy with her home life and always getting into serious trouble was now doing fine and on the straight and narrow.

I tried, whenever I was able, to show her a future where she would be in control of her life if she stopped doing the stupid (and prosecutable stuff).

She told my son that I had helped her a lot and she owed it, in part, to me that she had turned her life around.

If I can make a difference for the better to just a few of the students, then even the worst days are worth it.
