I worked as a housekeeper. Nothing wrong with it. It's honest work, and paid better than many work/study jobs.
Now that I'm older, I've considered finding one for myself as soon as I get a job. If you pay them a decent wage and treat them with respect there's absolutely nothing wrong with hiring housekeepers. Lots of people could use the extra cash, and I'd prefer to scrimp in other areas. I know a woman who canceled her cable and uses the $75 to hire someone to come in for a day a month to do the heavy cleaning. That's better than the average "white collar" wage for this area, so more power to her.
