 Just found some old pictures from a summer trip to Iceland in 1988 with some friends. One of them was of a lovely table set with Harkarl (putrefied shark), svid (sheep's face, singed to remove the hair) and hrutspungar(soured rams' testicles).
There was also a picture of me puking after having sampled the Harkarl. It was absolutely disgusting. I've eaten haggis (quite bad), Lutefisk (also quite bad) and durian (freaking stinky) and was not able to overcome the smell at the expense of the taste. Anyone else have any other culinary wonders that I should avoid in the future? |
