They market formula in countries to those in poverty without adequate clean water to mix it with or finances to make it properly. Mothers often start to be "more like western women" (that's how it's marketed) with good intentions, but it affects their milk supply and gradually have to add more formula to make up for it. Formula is often over-diluted with water that may or may not be sanitary. It's a viscous cycle and ultimately a public health nightmare. The greatest killer world wide of infants is dehydration related to diarrhea. This is a common cause. Breastmilk is always best unless the mother is HIV+ or has Hepatitis. It is sanitary and contains natural disease fighting elements. Nestle profits fromt he deaths of babies.
