| 51. Maybe I can shed a little more light on the illness thing |
|
Think of it this way--just like people are more attracted to someone who's smiling than someone who frowns all the time, illness can glom onto people who are "sick in spirit" so to speak. If you say "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all," your negative thoughts are going to manifest into something concrete--possibly a physical illness. If you're always down on yourself, hating yourself, you actually will manifest an illness. Regarding manifestation/affirmations...if you expect to get sick, saying over and over again, "Man, everybody around me has the flu--I just KNOW I'm going to catch it within a day or two," you're going to get sick. We not only have to pay attention to what we do in life, but what we think, because our thoughts actually influence what happens to us.
Are those the only ways you get sick? Of course not. Sometimes a virus is just a virus that you catch because somebody coughed on you.
There's also another element to that which is harder for a lot of people to accept--that this lifetime is a big classroom. Before you were born, you chose to undergo certain experiences. Sometimes that can be an illness, like cancer. So that influences what happens to you as well.
