12. As a kid growing up in the fifties, I loved going to the drive-in!
I don't remember what pictures we saw...but, it was all such a fun experience.

The klunky speaker in the window...the sound of tires on the gravel moving slowly through the lot...the playground for the kiddies in front of the big screen...the snack bar. OH, THE SNACK BAR! :9 The smell of hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pizza, and popcorn filled the air. The entire family got to eat out...and, see a show at the same time.

The last time I went to the drive-in was in 1966...we drove in...as a college student, I was in the trunk to save money. And, it was fun, too!

Ah...such an American icon...the drive-in...are there any left that aren't just used for flea markets on the weekends?
