5. Yup, that's what they look like. :)
I don't have a pic of my gang handy at the moment, or I'd post it. Mine are the sand-colored variants like the dog in the background, though they have brindles in their ancestry, and it's not at all unlikely that we'll have a few brindles in a future litter. They also come in "black-mantle" (black-and-tan) which we should have in this year's litter.

They were gazelle hunters in the Sahara Desert for thousands of years. (There's a Sloughi depicted in King Tut's tomb.) I don't train them to hunt, but people do lure coursing with them, which I may try this year too. So far I've just done conformation, some obedience, a little bit of agility.

They're wonderful companions, very serene and quiet - at least once they get past the crazy puppy stage! :)
