| 85. I don't care about Richard Hatch. |
|
He was actively campaigning against the BSG remake because it deviated from the original too much in his eyes. That ticked me off because even as a child I thought the original was horrible and any changes would almost certainly be for the better.
On top of that Richard Hatch acted in the original, and as I said, the original was horrible in my opinion.
However, as much as I don't care for Richard Hatch, I love his character. He may have been an idealist at one time, but he's clearly become a self-serving slimeball and he stirs up lots of trouble in the fleet (which makes for good TV).
PS -- I don't think Kasey is what Leoban claims her to be. I don't doubt that she is Kara's child, but I don't think she's half cylon. The writers spent too much time and effort setting up Sharon's baby as the Special Chosen Child, and too much time establishing that such babies could not be conceived without love. Growing Kasey in a petri dish then shoving the blastocyst into a human woman unermines all the setup they did. I think Kasey was conceived in a petri dish from Kara's ovary, but I think the father is human and Leoban is lying to Kara to mess with her head.
