In fact, i play golf pretty well. I'm a 3 handicap and i don't play in tournaments anymore. I don't care to compete, but i still like to play golf as often as i can. The competition sucks some of the fun right out of it.
I never play for money. I don't play in events. I'm doing it purely for the enjoyment. So, what you told your son seems like good advice. You have to find the elements of joy within the sport and not really need the competition. The Professor
