As one of those you are nice to despite whatever gossip you might hear about me or those I love, I know that I am in part responsible for your hurt. But I'll say here publicly that you have only been nice to me as you are to everyone. There is no secret allegiance between us, no special friendship, except that my admiration for you this past week has grown exponentially.

I agree with you completely about saying rude inconsiderate things to and about others in public, especially about someone so kind and compassionate and fair as you.
