10. Funny, I was just having this conversation with some others
First, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, have a rug near the toilet. They can't help it, it just splashes. (I do know of some men whose mommies taught them to sit to eliminate the problem, so if you have a son...)

Keep a pack of disinfectant wipes in the toilet and ask him to wipe down the seat and the area around the base of the toilet. You will find the smell going away.
