| 39. Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember when |

"gay" meant happy or carefree. Words constantly change meaning or implication, so children are using "gay" now to mean "lame" or "stupid", even though they know its other usage. Too, they will use the word "gay" just to annoy adults.
