of the most disgusting, misogynistic, gratuitously violent, ridiculously written (how on EARTH did this script ever see the light of day?!*) pander-to-the-lowest-common-denominator films I ever watched all the way through. Yes, I have watched it all the way through, and enjoyed it. Long before I found my brain and my womanhood and my self esteem. This is not to insult any of you who really like the film. This is to say that I think it is the biggest pile of shit ever beloved by otherwise thinking people.

Swayze, with plenty of study, may someday be a good actor. I adore Sam Elliott. Ben Gazzara had his day (though not in this POS). Kevin Tighe's a good character actor. Kathleen Wilhoite was the best in the cast, IMO, but how much does that say? Jeff Healey was terrific. Kelly Lynch (ooh, goody, a medical doctor -- gives the collection of miscreants some intelligence!) gets negative career points for portraying someone who stays with a murderer.

I will never, ever understand this contingent of DU's adoration of that piece of shit.
