50. It isn't jealousy
I am no more jealous of the Yankees than I am of General Motors or the Pentagon or George Bush. The Yankees are very much the Republican right-wing of baseball. If people wanted to pull for a winning team, they would, so the jealousy charge makes no sense. It is called contempt for arrogance and a complete lack of sportmanship and grace on behalf of the team or its fans.

I can understand Yankees fans from New York City (especially their turf in the Bronx) - that is one of their home teams. But Yankee fans from outside of New York - I suspect are just bandwagoners hitching their wagon to the biggest star they see. "Everyone loves a winner!"
