I think that's what you are describing. They don't add any real value to the discussion (see OP) but post snarky shit simply because they can. I love that skinner and the others have developed this little feature called "hide thread," but I truly believe it is under utilized by most posters. Instead, they go into a thread and post nasty stuff because it is somehow self-validating - I dunno. It's not something I would do.
