They have no examples to follow, and it's been the better part of 3 crops of newbie reporters since we heard anything resembling an evenhanded, balanced news report.

I do feel your pain, though. It's been vexing me for a while that reporters, - and even the population in general, seem to rely so heavily on hyperbole to pursuade.

I have a Turkish friend who made the comment that she felt "no group in the U.S. could print a political tract that would pursuade anyone who didn't already agree with them." In large part due to pervasive hyperbole and sound bites, we've forgotten how to elaborate our thinking process in a rational way.

Errr....uhm...Except your hyperbole for artistic purposes in mid-rant. That's just charming. :hi:
