Some of our customer's customers are international, and it seems very common for Asians to adopt an "American" name for use with non-Asians. Danny Fujimoto or Lance Ng or whatever. I think it's an attempt to be considerate to us stupid Americans who can't pronounce a foreign name properly to save our lives.

I think giving you his "real name" is probably to be considered a compliment.

It fouls me up sometimes because they'll place the order using their Asian name, then contact me for a follow-up using just their American first name... So I'm searching for "Danny" when it's actually under Wuji or something...

Just try to pretend you're talking to Wojo from Barney Miller...
