(Minor spelling gripe: It's PROXY, not "proxie.")

She was trying to get her adult son diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Now, I know a bunch of Aspies and he isn't one. He's maybe a bit depressive at times, but he's not autistic, and she was originally a cause of most of his problems anyway. Ever since he was little, she's been trying to "find out what's wrong with him," and had him in and out of pediatric psychiatric (in and outpatient) care for "behavioural problems," which is a sort of catch-all that can definitely apply to the difficulties of being hyperintelligent and a bright underachiever (I orta know). He could tell you stories about institutional child abuse that'd scare your pants off. Life got better for him once he got out from under his mom's thumb...

As to the other kind, I don't know much about it.
