100.  We were mods at the same time back in the early days
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 01:51 AM by Lydia Leftcoast
and at one point Kef sent a note to my individual e-mail account, asking what I thought about a certain poster.Of course, it came under his real name, not his screen name, and we had a bit of a back-and-forth exchange, with me not knowing why this stranger was sending me e-mails about DU, until he finally wrote, "Lydia, it's Kef!"

There was confusion about his gender in the early days, too, until he explained the source of his screen name.

I also remember how he and Joanski kept us all up to date on the Senate and Congressional hearings through their monitoring of CSPAN, and his taking charge of the threads on that horrible, confusing morning of 9/11 was masterful.

His Lounge posts were a delight, off-the-wall, but in a nice, intelligent way. You could almost envision the twinkle in his eye. The Lounge will be a less interesting place in his absence.

As someone said on another thread, Khephra was LBN. I was just over there and looked, and about 3/4 of the posts on the front page were his.

When my grandmother died at the age of 100 a few years ago, the minister (a member of the extended family) looked out over the mourners assembled for the funeral and remarked, "None of us have ever known a time when Elsie was not here."

I feel the same about Khephra and DU. I don't know which of us joined earlier, but he was a part of this board for so long that it felt as if he had been here forever. DU without Khephra is going to feel odd and empty.

May light perpetual shine upon him.

Deepest sympathies to Mama Kef and Khephra's other relatives and friends.
