30. "Getting it"
No, I wasn't trying to say *you* didn't 'get it'. I was saying the other guys weren't 'getting it', including (possibly too charitably, Reggie White himself. How much more sheltered from positive gay role models could you be, than as a Bible-believing pro football player?)

And I don't think I'm being a stealth bigot for saying it might be a reasonable thing to do to cut some slack to a few of those socially conservative types who maybe really *don't* 'get it'. What you're saying about "hatred and prejudice against 'whites, gays, hispanics and Asians' really is over the top.

...Believe me, last September and October I talked to a lot of Black folks who were supporters of Black Milwaukee Republican Corey Hoze, running against Black Democrat Gwen Moore. Their issues were strictly centered on school choice, abortion, and the unbelievable (and yes, idiotic) hostility of a lot of Democrats to the more 'charismatic' and traditional varieties of Christian religious expression.

I don't think that's a "cheap seat" point of view. The High Road is supposed to be the one with an unbiased, unobstructed view of both sides of a controversy. Which means maybe *nobody* has a total monopoly of right on their side. Or enough to justify the sort of rudeness, anger and vitriol that I've seen here.
