It's definitely up there with preying on the elderly - I just don't understand how people can be so heartless! I agree that eliminating social security numbers would help.

However, can I tell you that there is a website used to locate people that easily provides ss #s by clicking on a box - yes, my law firm had to sign release forms and everything, but all it would take is one rouge employee and he or she would have a gold mine on their hands! Our particular firm limits access to the site to one person (me), but I doubt all law firms are so diligent!
