Conservative friends forced to put their kid in *gasp* public school!

They're just beside themselves. They're frightened, seriously frightened! Their son has gone to private school since he started school. They've always thought that public school breeds only atheist, drug addicted, America-hating, tattooed prostitutes, and sometimes with belly button piercings!! But some harsh news about their favorite private school has forced them to choose the unimaginable path.

You see, they learned that their private school is corrupt. The sons and daughters of the faculty get away with murder and get awesome grades without doing any homework, while their own son is constantly in trouble and serving time in some sort of detention. I don't know all the details, but it sounds very odd, and I think it goes beyond what they've told me.

I know their kid has some behavior problems - he likes to play all the time and doesn't like to do his homework, that sort of thing. Pretty much reminds me of every kid I've ever known, but I'm not a parent ergo I'm not qualified to judge. What I do know is that he spent far more time being punished at this private school than he spent learning. That was the straw that broke his parents' back.

So, does anyone have any tips as to how a good young boy can survive the heathen, godless, sinful atmosphere of public schools? Having to interact with other kids whose parents don't drive the big SUVs or minivans? Some might even be those lazy welfare parents, or those poor broken families of single moms. Oh, and fair warning, their son might possibly be forced to interact with blacks, hispanics, or (even worse!!) sons with gay parents!!

O, woe must be this poor conservative family. I don't pray, but I'll meditate for them, truly. :D
