Nobody said we would outlaw them entirely, but the government does have an interest in making sure that certain vehicles get decent gas mileage.
There is blood being being spilled right now in order to secure a good supply of oil and wasting that resource in such a flagrant and vulgar way is at least worthy of our derision.
