the families of suicide bombers in Israel money. But I think it was the wall. And death or Arafat. And withdrawl of Gaza. So many things. I don't think you can say that the occupation of Iraq was the key factor.

We can guess about the reasons for why they went to war and what played a greater or lesser role. Since it was Cheney - who mastered the whole thing - I'd say it was payback for Saddam. But then again who were the goons behind the Niger forgeries? And of course - the neocons. And big oil? Wasn't Cheney sitting at a Haliburton desk - running that company into the ground while he was getting PNAC memos - before Bush asked him to find a VP?

Saddam was a bad man. They could have gotten rid of him without going inside Iraq and taking over. Somehow they really, really, really wanted to go inside Iraq and experiment and set precedent for pre-emptive war. There are lots of reasons for going to war. Without WMD - and with that intel stretched - the whole thing stinks. As do Niger forgeries.
